PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BEKASI - Acting Regent of Bekasi Dani Ramdan accompanied Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin inaugurating the revitalization of Cikarang Bridges I and II as well as the handover of bridge road assets to the Bekasi Regional Government located on Jl. MH Thamrin South Cikarang (1/5/2024).

Dani Ramdan said that the inauguration was held to coincide with Labor Day (Mayday) as a form of appreciation from the regional government considering that previously there was "Omah Labor" which was a symbol of the workers' movement in Bekasi Regency.

Bridges I & II Cikarang are the connection between the EJIP - MM 2100 Industrial Area. Bridge I was completed and accessible since 2017, while construction on Bridge II was completed in December 2023 after the relocation of "Omah Labor" and was declared to have passed the load test for vehicles to pass through.

"Through a persuasive approach, thank God we were able to build intensive communication without turmoil, without rejection, our fellow workers relocated to places that have been provided and are more adequate," he said

On behalf of the regional government, Dani Ramdan also expressed his appreciation to all trade unions, especially the Federation of Indonesian Metal Workers Unions (FSPMI) for their cooperation so that the revitalization of this bridge could be completed and used for the benefit of the people of Bekasi Regency.

Dani Ramdan said that the revitalization of this bridge is not only about physical infrastructure, but also to strengthen the foundation for local economic growth and the welfare of all workers and the community.

"Thanks to the close collaboration between the Regional Government and labor unions, industrial areas and also the Provincial Government as the main driver of the success of this project, to support industrial change and the welfare of the entire community," he continued.

Acting Governor of West Java, Bey Machmudin assesses Bekasi Regency as one of the most developed regions in West Java. With complete infrastructure, transportation facilities, as well as the establishment of the largest industrial area. It cannot be denied that many investors are interested in setting up their businesses in Bekasi Regency.

Especially now, after the inauguration of the revitalization of the bridge and the handover of its assets from the West Java Provincial Government to the Bekasi Regional Government, it is hoped that it can improve the welfare of the community and workers through easy transportation access for vehicles wishing to pass.

"The West Java Provincial Government appreciates workers (laborers) who have worked well and contributed to the country's economy. As the Acting Regent mentioned earlier, today is International Labor Day.
