PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Garut Regency, Nurdin Yana, explained that the installation of a photo of the previous Regent of Garut in the Garut Square Gallery was not to isolate, but to introduce it to the public.

Nurdin emphasized that the decision was taken before the Acting Regent of Garut, Barnas Adjidin, took the lead. He conveyed this in response to reports in the media regarding the installation of a photo of the previous Regent of Garut in the Garut Square Gallery which is right under the stands.

"This is simply because considering that there (often occurs) a gathering of people, so many people can see there, and we have also prepared the treatment in a way that is framed in such a way, so that, God willing, it will not be easily touched," said Regional Secretary Nurdin, in his official statement at the Regional Secretariat Office (Setda) of Garut Regency, Jalan Pembangunan, Tarogong Kidul District, Garut Regency, Tuesday (26/3/2024).

Based on information from the General Section of the Garut Regency Regional Secretariat, the photo installation has been carried out since mid-2023.

Nurdin Yana added that this placement had been carefully considered, however, his party also received input from the public regarding the installation of a photo of the previous Garut Regent which was considered to belittle the previous Garut leader.

His party will consult with the Acting Regent to ensure the placement of the photo is in accordance with the desired representation.

Nurdin emphasized that the main purpose of installing the photo was to provide information to the public about previous leaders. He said that there was no intention whatsoever to demean or isolate this figure.

The placement of these photos is considered by taking into account various aspects, including the desire to convey clear information to the public.

"God willing, there will not be the slightest feeling of marginalizing or belittling our figures when they are placed in that space. Once again, the placement there will take into account the aspects that were previously stated, we want to publish it so that the public knows the details of who they are. "Who are the regents, it's actually like that," he said.
