PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Regional Government (Pemda) of Bandung City officially launched the logo for the 214th Anniversary of the City of Bandung (HJKB) at The House Convention Hall Paskal 23, Tuesday (21/5/2024).

This logo was chosen through a competition held by the Bandung City Culture and Tourism Service (Disbudpar) from 8-21 May 2024.

Overall, it is a representation of the values of the theme "The Spirit of Collaboration to Make the City of Bandung a Sustainable Progress" which reflects the determination, motivation and strength that inspires citizens to work together.

The flame being the main visual of the logo is a representation of the Bandung spirit of the Sea of Fire which continues to flow to every citizen of the city of Bandung. The flame element itself is designed abstractly to resemble the numbers "2", "1", and "4" to symbolize the 214th HJKB.

The main visual of the logo not only appears as a burning fire, but also as a tree whose trunk and roots are embedded in the ground. The elements of leaves, twigs and tree tops become one unit that collaborates in realizing the advanced and sustainable growth of the city of Bandung.

The use of three main colors yellow, green and blue and one light blue as a complement are colors taken from the identity colors of the city of Bandung. The four colors represent 4 (four) city visions, namely Creative (light blue), Religious (dark blue), Advanced (yellow), and Sustainable (green).

Acting (Acting) Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono, said that the chosen logo could represent the spirit of the 214th HJKB which raised the theme The Spirit of Collaboration to Make the City of Bandung a Sustainable Progress.

On this occasion, the tagline for the 214th HJKB, namely Bandung Progressing, Developing, was also launched.

"The meaning of the HJKB logo is very extraordinary, sustainable collaboration, and also a ball of fire showing a burning determination to accelerate development in the city of Bandung," he said

He said the logo was the result of a competition which was ideas from the public representing the citizens of Bandung City.

"This logo is the result of a selection. The city of Bandung, as a creative city, had approximately 85 people who provided ideas. And selected by a team of judges, this is what was chosen. This is also thanks to support from BJB," he said.

He hopes that this year's HJKB series can become a people's party and truly be felt by the wider community down to the RT and RW level.

"We also hope that this series of HJKB will be something that attracts tourists. We will package it as attractively as possible so that it attracts foreign tourists to come to the city of Bandung," he said.

The HJKB 214 logo was born from the work of a graphic designer from Kopo, Bandung City named Widya N. Firdansyah. He is a logo specialist who graduated from the Mathematics Department of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and now works at PT. LEN Industri (Persero) as analyst.

Previously, Widya had also won various design competitions. These include 1st Winner 50 years Gunung Madu Plantations (2024), 1st Winner Unofficial logo 537 years Gresik Regency (2024) and Top 3 Logo 1274 years Salatiga Regency (2024) as well as various other awards. (Diskominfo Bandung City/Revo)
