PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Ahead of the implementation of the New Student Admissions System (SPMB), the Bandung City Government is currently formulating a strategy to make it easier for prospective students to obtain their right to study.
According to the Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, all children who graduate from education in the city of Bandung must receive their rights properly.
"Two things that must be our (Bandung City Government) concern are school opportunities at all levels and the provision of subsidies in private schools," said the Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan at Assalam Elementary School (5/4/2024).
For that, Fahran said, the Bandung City Government will classify private schools. Schools with low classifications will receive assistance from the Bandung City Government.
According to him, like private schools that are accredited A, they are already independent. The A predicate is given to schools with an accreditation score of 91–100, which means very good.
This accreditation shows that the school has adequate quality and complies with applicable standards.
"A accreditation can be independent, later the lowest (accreditation) must be subsidized, pay SPP (Education Development Contribution)," he said.
For funding, Farhan emphasized that the government continues to strive to maximize the provision of these subsidies.
"We are looking for the money. Because the budget shift is required for new classrooms. We are also trying to allocate this subsidy," he said.
Farhan assessed that private schools are not just educational institutions but also job opportunities. Because there are principals, teachers, employees and canteen managers.
"We defend so that this work continues to run optimally. Because in private schools there are foundation owners, school employees, teachers to the existing canteen. We will try that," he said. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/Fauziah)
