PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - The Garut Regional Government has established a strategic partnership with the Sue Machi City Government of Japan, marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the distribution of labor.

The event took place in the Pamengkang Hall of Garut Hall (22/4/2024).

Assistant for Government and People's Welfare (Pemkesra) of the Regional Secretariat of Garut Regency, Bambang Hafidz, said that the Japanese Government is currently facing a need for workers, especially in the health sector.

Sue Machi Japan has even continued collaborating with the College of Health Sciences (STIKES) to recruit health workers.

"Today they also went straight to STIKES to sign a cooperation agreement to procure health workers," said Bambang.

In this context, Bambang hopes that the Garut Regional Government can produce the needed workforce, especially through Job Training Centers (BLK).

This collaboration is expected to provide security guarantees for workers who will be placed in Japan.

"The hope is that every year someone will be sent to absorb the workforce," he said.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Sue Machi City, Shuichi Hiramatsu, expressed his interest in collaborating with Garut after seeing the conditions of Garut Regency firsthand, so that young people in Garut Regency can work in Japan, especially in Sue Machi City.

This collaboration not only covers the distribution of labor, but also the fields of culture, tourism and others.

"Later, apart from labor, there will be culture, tourism, etc., after that, perhaps between Garut and Sue City, each person in charge will be appointed later to be able to communicate directly," he said. (Diskominfo Garut/Fauziah)
