PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Regional Secretary of West Java Province, Taufiq Budi Santoso, revealed that the West Java Provincial Government continues to strive to boost economic growth in the north/northeast region of West Java which is summarized in the Rebana Metropolitan agglomeration.

The areas predicted to be the future of West Java include the cities and districts of Cirebon, Subang, Indramayu, Majalengka, Kuningan and Sumedang.

For this reason, cooperation with various parties is also continuously being pursued as a collaborative step to accelerate the progress of regional development.

In line with this, the Acting West Java Regional Secretary was present at the signing of the Record of Discussion of the Detailed Planning Survey for the Rebana Area Development Project at the Indonesian Ministry of Economy office in Jakarta, Thursday (7/12/2023).

Taufiq hopes that the development of the Rebana area, as well as the development of Patimban Port in Subang Regency, can continue to progress well and according to expectations.

"Hopefully this collaboration can develop the eastern part of West Java in particular," said Taufiq.

"We also need to convey that currently apart from the Port (Patimban), Kertajati Airport (BIJB) has also started operating again since 29 October. It is hoped that this can leverage existing growth in the Rebana area," he added.

Taufiq expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the efforts of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs who have facilitated the Rebana Management Agency (BP) to obtain opportunities for cooperation.

This collaboration, which is also facilitated with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Taufiq hopes that after this, the development progress of the Rebana area can be further accelerated.

"Hopefully this can speed up the development process and in order to coordinate the development of the Rebana area," he said.

Moreover, continued Taufiq, the development of this metropolitan area has been stipulated in Presidential Regulation Number 87 of 2021 concerning the Acceleration of Development of the Rebana Area and the Southern Part of West Java.

Not only that, West Java Governor Regulation No. 85 of 2020 concerning the Management Agency for the Cirebon-Patimban-Kertajati Metropolitan Area has also been issued.
