PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG REGENCY - The West Java Provincial Government handed over aid amounting to Rp103 million for flood victims in Bandung Regency.

The assistance worth Rp103 million is the first stage. If there is anything else needed, the Provincial Government is ready to fulfill it.

The aid for flood victims was handed over by the Regional Secretary of West Java, Herman Suryatman, and received by the Regional Secretary of Bandung Regency, Cakra Amiyana, directly at the flood location, Sunday (9/3/2025).

"There are also goods, logistics, and if other assistance is needed, we are ready, today it is not only Bandung Regency, we are also giving attention to our other regencies," said Herman Suryatman.

In Bandung Regency, floods hit three sub-districts, namely Bojongsoang, Baleendah, Dayeuhkolot. The floods were caused by high intensity rain over the past week. The water level varies from ankle to waist of an adult.

Floods also disrupted residents' activities. Such as heavy traffic congestion on Jalan Terusan Bojongsoang - Baleendah towards Bandung City.

Herman said he had conducted consolidation and coordination with the parties. Until now, refugee tents have been set up for affected residents.

For example, in Baleendah District, four tents have been prepared. So that it is certain that all affected residents can evacuate safely.

"What is clear is that the government ensures that all citizens are guaranteed their safety and livelihood during this disaster," he added.

Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary of Bandung Regency, Cakra Amiyana, expressed his gratitude for the attention of the West Java Provincial Government.

He also revealed that his party was ready to follow up on disaster mitigation with a number of steps.

"I and my staff are ready to take several actions, first ensuring that the evacuation tents for residents are safely protected. Second ensuring that logistics are safe, and third ensuring that the evacuation runs smoothly," said Cakra.

Cakra said that the Bandung Regency Government had mobilized all resources to ensure the safety of affected residents.

"Our concern is that there are still residents who are staying (at home), while we do not know the frequency or level of rain that could be dangerous, so support is needed starting from the sub-district head, BPBD and other parties," said Cakra.
