PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) has given telecommunications operators 14 days to restore customer internet services before overhead cable installation resumes on October 27, 2026.
Overhead cable regulation was temporarily suspended from 12–26 October 2026 to allow operators to resolve network disruptions and maintain public connectivity.
The Head of the Bandung City Communications and Informatics Agency (Diskominfo), Henryco Arie Sapiie, said the schedule adjustment prioritizes restoring internet services in affected areas.
"During this period, we are asking operators to expedite the resolution of disruptions in affected areas. Overhead cable installation will continue as scheduled, while still ensuring network readiness and service continuity for the public," Henryco said on Monday (October 12, 2026).
Based on the Diskominfo report, internet disruptions are still occurring in Antapani Lama, Babakan Surabaya, Antapani Kidul, Arcamanik, Sukamiskin, Kebonwaru, and Cisaranten.
Meanwhile, the restoration of internet services in Astanaanyar and Jalan Sudirman has reportedly been completed, allowing for ongoing work in areas still experiencing disruption.
During the adjustment period, the Communications and Information Technology Office coordinated with operators to monitor network recovery and follow up on reports of disruptions from the public.
Henryco emphasized that the Bandung City Government will ensure that the cable installation is carried out according to regulations without compromising the continuity of internet services for customers.
The overhead cable arrangement program began on June 2, 2026, with a target of covering 85 main roads, of which 65 have been handled.
The Bandung City Government has asked operators to use the break until October 26 to resolve the disruptions, before overhead cable installation resumes on October 27, 2026.
