PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government is assisting 1,000 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in processing halal certification for their products and services.

Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan said the assistance was carried out in collaboration with the West Java Provincial Government and the business community.

"Thank God, through the collaboration of various communities in West Java and Bandung City, in collaboration with the West Java Provincial Government, the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency, and the Bandung City Government, we have jointly ensured easy halal certification assistance for 1,000 entrepreneurs, especially MSMEs," said Farhan (September 2, 2026).

This assistance helps business actors understand the halal certification process while complying with applicable regulations.

Farhan believes that halal certification can provide added value and increase the competitiveness of MSME products and services.

Business actors are encouraged to utilize assistance to ensure that the halal certification process runs smoothly and in accordance with official procedures.

The chairman of the Red and White Chinese Communication Forum (Fokti MP), Yohanes Handri, said the program helps entrepreneurs obtain information about halal certification procedures.

"This seminar and halal certification event is held to make it easier for fellow entrepreneurs to obtain halal certification. This means that by obtaining halal certification, we are contributing to the success of the government's program," Yohanes said.

This education also helps business actors avoid brokering and fraudulent practices when processing business permits.

"We also want our fellow entrepreneurs to avoid brokers or even fraud. Most people apply for permits, spend money, but the permits never come through," he said.

West Java community figure and cultural figure Anton Charliyan expressed his appreciation for the assistance, which he considered to provide direct benefits to MSMEs.

"I am very grateful to the Mayor and Fokti for this, as this is a real contribution from the government to help MSMEs," said Anton.

According to Anton, free assistance can ease the burden on small business owners and demonstrate government support for the development of MSMEs.

"Moreover, it's free. On behalf of cultural figures and the entire West Java community, I express my gratitude. I hope this kind of initiative can continue, and this also contributes to the success of the government's program," he said.
