PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan is preparing to distribute clean water to affected areas to anticipate potential drought and water supply disruptions during the long dry season, 13/5/2026.

The Bandung City Government took this step to ensure that the community's water needs remain met even though the flow of raw water sources has decreased.

"Our raw water sources are truly dependent on various sources," said Farhan at Bandung City Hall.

According to Farhan, one of the main impacts of the dry season is a reduction in water discharge, which can affect water distribution through the Regional Drinking Water Company network in a number of areas.

"The risk is that PDAM pipes will dry up at some points," he said.

The Bandung City Government has prepared a fleet of clean water tanks that will be activated to distribute water supplies to drought-affected areas.

"We will soon reactivate the clean water transport tank," he said.

All regional agencies were also asked to increase preparedness and strengthen cross-agency coordination to ensure smooth distribution of clean water during the dry season.

Farhan emphasized that logistical readiness is a top priority to ensure the safety of the community's basic needs.

The Bandung City Government also appealed to the public to conserve water to reduce the risk of a clean water crisis during the longer dry season.

"The important thing is that we are ready from now on," he said.
