PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government is increasing public legal literacy through the Integrated Legal Counseling (Luhkumdu) program implemented in six sub-districts as a preventive effort to strengthen residents' understanding of laws and regulations and their implementation at the regional level (19/6/2026).

Head of the Legal Aid Facilitation Team of the Legal Section of the Bandung City Regional Secretariat, Puja Suryaningrat, said that this activity was a step by the Bandung City Government to bring legal education directly to the community and officials in the region.

"In essence, this outreach activity is one of the Bandung City Government's efforts to improve public and official understanding of laws and regulations and their implementation," he said in Padasuka Village.

The 2026 Integrated Legal Counseling was implemented in six sub-districts, namely Cipedes, Padasuka, Warung Muncang, Burangrang, Babakan Penghulu, and Cipadung.

The implementation in Padasuka Village was the second point after previously being held in Cipedes Village.

Puja explained that this activity presented speakers from various agencies, including the Bandung City Religious Court, the Bandung City District Attorney's Office, the Bandung City Police, the Bandung City ATR/BPN Land Office, and the Legal Section of the Bandung City Regional Secretariat.

The target of the activity is focused on the community at the sub-district level so that the delivery of legal material can be more targeted and easy to understand.

"The hope is that the public and officials will have a better understanding of legal issues. The most important thing is to increase public knowledge and understanding of various legal issues," he said.

Padasuka Village Head Zimmi Muslim expressed his appreciation for the implementation of the activity and hoped that regional officials and community institutions could become extensions of legal education in the community.

"We hope this activity will provide insight and knowledge, especially for the neighborhood unit (RW) and neighborhood association (LKK) heads, who are the frontline representatives in the community. We hope they can re-educate the public about the law and various regulations relating to community rights and obligations," he said.

The Bandung City Government hopes that increasing legal literacy will strengthen public awareness so that potential legal problems can be prevented early through a better understanding of the rules.
