PORTALJABAR, BOGOR CITY - Acting Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Bogor City, Hanafi, emphasized the commitment of the Bogor City Government (Pemkot) to eradicating drug abuse.

Hanafi made the statement in a meeting to discuss the cooperation agreement for the establishment of the Bogor City National Narcotics Agency (BNN) which took place at Paseban Surawisesa, Bogor City Hall, Friday (11/4/2025).

Hanafi explained that the establishment of the Bogor City BNN was a strategic step to strengthen the handling of narcotics in a massive, structured and sustainable manner.

He hopes that the presence of the Bogor City BNN will be able to accelerate coordination and response in efforts to prevent and eradicate drugs.

"We want a separate institution that focuses more on handling drug issues in Bogor City. Hopefully, with the formation of the City BNN, handling can be more massive and focused," he said.

Head of the Bogor Regency BNN, Anggun Cahyono, who was also present to provide information regarding the process of establishing the BNN, expressed his support for the establishment of the Bogor City BNN.

He said that narcotics are a very complex global issue and require the involvement of all parties.

"Bogor City, with its strong profile, is very appropriate to start this concrete step. Synergy is needed from various elements, including community leaders, officials, and the role of parents and peers," he said.

Representative of the Bogor City Police Narcotics Research Unit (Satresnarkoba), IPDA Subandi, revealed that throughout 2024, the amount of narcotics evidence that was successfully secured in Bogor City was quite large.

Among them, 9,417.73 grams of marijuana, 2,568.27 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 2,001.48 grams of synthetic tobacco, 343 ecstasy pills, 2,549 psychotropic pills, and 49,803 restricted hard drugs (OKT).

This meeting is the first step towards the establishment of the Bogor City BNN. Furthermore, a technical team will be formed to design operational steps and develop effective working mechanisms, as a joint effort to create a healthier and drug-free Bogor City environment.
