PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Apart from being known as a service and tourism city, Bandung City also has various industrial centers ranging from fashion to pharmaceuticals. For this reason, the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) continues to encourage the development and recovery of industry in the City of Bandung after the COVID-19 pandemic.

This was stated by the Acting Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono, when visiting two industrial companies, namely PT. Primarindo Asia Infrastructure and PT. Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Indonesia, Monday (5/2/2024).

The first location visited was, PT. Primarindo Asia Infrastruktur, a local company that produces shoes under the "Tomkins" brand.

"Today we visited two industrial products, the first was a labor-intensive industry at PT Primarindo Asia Infrastruktur (Tomkins) which was affected by COVID-19 yesterday," he said.

Bambang said that recovering from the pandemic was a tough job. Starting from returning production patterns, workforce management to sales to normal conditions before the pandemic.

For this reason, he asked the Manpower Office and the Tripartite Cooperation Institution (LKS), which consists of elements of entrepreneurs, trade unions and the government, to find a formulation to help industry recover.

"That their product is part of the branding of the City of Bandung. This is because we need to encourage the branding of the City of Bandung. Therefore, I ask the Manpower Office to have a dialogue with the Tripartite LKS to find a solution," he said.

He emphasized that the Bandung City Government will continue to be present and support companies carrying out business activities in the City of Bandung.

"The government will be present, Bandung's potential is extraordinary in terms of trade MSMEs and others. We must be present. Stay enthusiastic, we will find the best solution," he said.

At the second location, Bambang visited PT. Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Indonesia is a pharmaceutical company with offices in Cinambo District.

Bambang said that the pharmaceutical industry is one of the developing potentials in the city of Bandung. He is proud of the latest technology implemented in the company.

However, he encouraged companies to use domestic products and raw materials. Apart from that, companies must also pay attention to various aspects ranging from environmental safety to social aspects.

"We are going to Mitsubishi Tanabe which is really high tech. Hopefully the raw materials can be sourced from within the country. And this is also an investment value for the City of Bandung. We continue to encourage them to be "aware" of the environment, social and other things, this is important," he said.

Not only that, he also asked companies to absorb professional workers from the city of Bandung to join in developing the pharmaceutical industry.

"The workforce here is a very professional workforce because of high technology. Everything is digital, the people's abilities are very specific.
