PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government continues to improve the quality of services at the Bandung Kiwari Regional Hospital's Emergency Installation through service evaluations, strengthening the competence of health workers, and adding on-call doctors to expedite patient care (2/7/2026).

Evaluation was conducted on response time and patient waiting time indicators as benchmarks for safe and quality emergency services.

Head of Medical and Nursing Services at Bandung Regional Hospital, Kiwari Afriani Altis, stated that the Emergency Room's response time from January to June 2026 reached around 99 percent.

"Based on data from January to June 2026, the emergency department's response time has reached around 99 percent. This means that almost all patients arriving at the triage area receive initial treatment within a maximum of five minutes, according to national service standards," he said.

Afriani explained that the hospital still faces challenges in the form of limited capacity for triage rooms, observation rooms, and inpatient rooms for medical cases.

The evaluation results also showed that 69 percent of patients received standard service with a maximum waiting time of six hours, while 31 percent waited more than six hours.

According to Afriani, the referral process for patients requiring advanced services, including cardiac catheterization, also affects the length of waiting times in the Emergency Department.

Director of Bandung Kiwari Regional Hospital, Arief Budiman, said the hospital is strengthening the quality of its services by improving the competence of its healthcare workers and adding on-call doctors.

"To improve the quality of services in the emergency room, Bandung Kiwari Regional Hospital has prioritized strengthening human resources as one of its primary improvement measures. Emergency services require rapid response, requiring strong coordination from the entire team," he said.

Bandung Kiwari Regional Hospital will also hold training on triage systems and service standards for on-call doctors to ensure faster, more effective, and more safety-oriented patient care.
