PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - Dharma Wanita Pertama (DWP) Garut Regency held a social activity for Non-Communicable Disease Health Checks and Electrocardiogram (ECG), at the Garut Regency DWP Secretariat, Wednesday (24/4/2024).

According to the Chairperson of the Garut Regency DWP, Lina Nurdin Yana, apart from being an implementation of the Garut Regency DWP work program in the social and cultural sector, this activity was also held to commemorate the 145th Kartini Day at the Garut Regency level.

Lina explained that the activities participated in by the administrators and members of the Garut Regency DWP were aimed at increasing the understanding of the administrators and members regarding early detection of non-communicable diseases.

"The second goal, of course, is to reduce premature death rates due to non-communicable diseases," he said.

Lina hopes that activities like this will not only take place during the commemoration of RA Kartini Day, but will also be held at other moments, so that Garut Regency DWP members and administrators can recognize the signs and symptoms of non-communicable diseases.

Lina added that this activity was the first for the Garut Regency DWP to carry out ECG examinations in collaboration with the Hasna Medika Heart Hospital.

"Thank God, the implementation of this health screening activity means that mothers understand and are aware of the dangers of non-communicable diseases," he said.

Director of the Hasna Medika Main Heart Clinic, Dr. Santy Alissandi, felt happy to be able to contribute to educational activities, infectious disease health checks, and ECG examinations for Garut Regency DWP administrators and members.

"I see a lot of benefits, especially for checking non-communicable diseases and checking heart records to find out the risks of heart disease," he said.

On this occasion, his party carried out a heart record examination, by providing a heart recorder to detect symptoms of heart disease through basic examinations.

In accordance with the vision and mission of the Hasna Medika Main Heart Clinic, continued Dr. Santy, his party wishes to continue to contribute to preventive and promotive activities related to heart health in Garut Regency.

"The hope is that awareness of the entire Garut Regency community, especially the extended family of the Garut Regency DWP, will increase regarding health awareness of heart disease," he said.
