PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government has confirmed the Board of Judges for the 49th Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ) in 2026 as an effort to ensure that the implementation of the MTQ is professional, objective, and with integrity at the Sari Ater Kamboti Hotel (20/6/2026).
The Regional Secretary of Bandung City, Iskandar Zulkarnain, as the General Chairperson of the Bandung City Qur'an Recitation Development Institute (LPTQ), stated that the panel of judges has an important role in determining the quality of participants and producing the best qari, qariah, hafiz, and hafizah who will represent Bandung City at the provincial and national levels.
"The presence of the Panel of Judges is not merely a formal invitation, but rather a noble mandate. The integrity, quality, and sanctity of the MTQ (Qualification Religious Competition) are at stake, ensuring the best possible participants to represent the city of Bandung," he said.
Iskandar emphasized that the values of the Qur'an must be implemented in daily life, not only as reading material, but also as a guideline in building the character of the people of Bandung City.
"The noble values of the Qur'an should not stop at reading, but must become the behavior, work ethic, and character of the people of Bandung City," he said.
He also emphasized the importance of professionalism, objectivity, and independence of the panel of judges in providing honest, fair, and transparent assessments without intervention.
The Chairman of the 49th MTQ Committee for Bandung City, Saripudin, reported that the orientation activity was attended by 74 participants consisting of 68 judges and 6 committee members as a step to align perceptions before the implementation of the musabaqah.
"We hope that the champions we produce will be truly qualified, objective, and capable of representing Bandung City at the MTQ level from West Java Province to the national level," he said.
The Bandung City Government hopes that this inauguration will strengthen the quality of the 49th MTQ and be part of developing the Quranic generation and strengthening the values of the Quran in society.
