PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The management of Basic Education Data (Dapodik) must be able to provide faster, more correct, and more accurate data services.

This was emphasized by the Head of the West Java (Jabar) Education Office (Kadisdik), Purwanto, at the Dapodik Management Handover event in the West Java Education Office Oproom Meeting Room, Bandung City, Monday (31/8/2026).

The activity was attended by all structural officials of the West Java Education Office, Heads of Education Office Branches (KCD) Regions I–XIII, and the Dapodik facilitation team.

"What schools, the community, and teachers need is fast, yet correct and accurate service. We must not allow access to every sector and KCD to cause service to become slower. It must be more accurate and faster. That is the focus of our service," the Head of the Education Office emphasized.

Strengthening Dapodik Management

The Head of the Education Office emphasized that Dapodik governance needs to be strengthened, both functionally and structurally.

This is important to ensure that data management can support fast, precise, and accurate services to educational units and all stakeholders.

"Based on the evaluation, Dapodik's functional and structural governance must be running smoothly. Schools and stakeholders must also receive good service," he said.

Through strengthening governance, he explained, the management of Dapodik, which was previously under the West Java Education Office Secretariat, has now been institutionally transferred to the division that handles Educational Information and Communication Technology (Tikomdik).

Despite institutional changes, the service functions currently carried out by the management team remain an important part of Dapodik management.

"This isn't really a significant change in terms of management, but more of an institutional restructuring. Hopefully, this restructuring will sharpen systems analysis and other aspects," he said.

Strengthening Data Security and Accountability

In addition to institutional aspects, the Head of Education Office emphasized the importance of maintaining security and integrity in the management of Dapodik.

According to him, data management must be accompanied by clear control mechanisms to minimize various potential risks.

Every party given access to Dapodik, he continued, must have authority according to their duties and needs.

Access rights settings also need to be carried out in a measured manner, starting from access to view the dashboard to the authority to update data.

"Who is granted access and authority must be transparent and clearly regulated. Some can only view the dashboard, others can access it more deeply, and still others have the authority to update data," he explained.

Strengthening Accountability through SPTJM

To strengthen accountability, the Head of the Education Office asked every Dapodik access holder to create and sign a Statement of Absolute Responsibility (SPTJM).

According to him, SPTJM needs to be documented and become part of the access control mechanism, both at the education unit, KCD, and provincial levels.

"Our integrity in this governance must be strictly maintained. Everyone with access must be accountable for their authority," he stressed.

Ensure Data Activity Can Be Tracked

The Head of the Education Office also asked the management team to mitigate and analyze various potential risks in managing Dapodik.

One way is to ensure that every data management activity can be traced through the system.

According to him, a good system must be able to provide a data management trail so that every change or activity can be known and controlled.

"If the system is good, when something happens, it will be clear who did it and where the activity originated. Therefore, the system and its applications must be well-designed so they can be tracked and controlled," he said.

He hopes that strengthening Dapodik governance can provide momentum to improve the quality of educational data services in West Java on a sustainable basis.

"We must not let this arrangement make service slower or inaccurate. It must be more accurate and faster. That is the focus of our service," he concluded.
