PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting. The Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono, called the presence of the Tripartite Cooperation Institution (LKS) something crucial in the City of Bandung.

According to him, this institution can be a forum for communication between trade unions, employers and the government.

Currently, aspects of the trade and employment industry must be encouraged to be more advanced.

"We saw that the enthusiasm of the Tripartite LKS colleagues was extraordinary. We are aware that the city of Bandung has a culture of chatting or communicating. "The presence of the Tripartite LKS is a communication forum for us," said Bambang at the Bandung City Manpower Office (Disnaker) (5/2/2024).

On the other hand, Bambang also encouraged collaboration between the Tripartite LKS and the government to be stronger.

The Bandung City Government has also prepared various facilities as a space for the Tripartite LKS to discuss and help formulate policies, especially regarding the employment industry.

“The government has an obligation to provide a facilitating space. We need cooperation. "I think the government, society and all elements," said Bambang.

"So, let's use this as a productive space to produce strategic solutions," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chair of the Bandung City Tripartite LKS, Hermawan, expressed his gratitude to the Bandung City Government for always providing space and facilities for the Tripartite LKS to contribute to the development of Bandung City.

"We would like to thank the Bandung City Government, through the Bandung City Manpower Office. "We have a comfortable space to contribute," said Hermawan.

He also conveyed several aspirations, representing the Tripartite LKS.

One of them is mass transportation for workers or laborers to reduce potential expenses from the transportation aspect.

"We feel that the TMB (Trans Metro Bandung, bus-based mass transportation) subsidy is very strategic in reducing labor expenses. "So, they can use it as a round-trip access to work," he explained.

For information, the Tripartite LKS is a communication, consultation and deliberation forum on employment issues whose members consist of elements of the government, employers' organizations and trade/labor unions.

Regarding employment issues, currently the Bandung City Government is trying to reduce the unemployment rate in Bandung City which is at 8.83 percent.

Several efforts have been made, including holding job fairs. Finally, the job fair in Bandung City opened 4,200 job vacancies from 41 companies at the end of 2023.
