PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijriah, the Integrated Safety Service Center (PSC) 119 of the Bandung City Health Service ensures full readiness to provide emergency health services to the community.

As in previous years, PSC 119 remains on standby 24 hours to handle emergency conditions, both during the homecoming and return flows of Eid.

Acting Head of UPTD PSC 119 of Bandung City Health Office, Eka Anugrah, admitted that he had made various preparations. One of them is placing health workers and ambulance units at several strategic points in Bandung City.

"We join and spread to several posts to support the smooth running of the 2025 Eid homecoming. One of them, PSC 119 is fully responsible for health services at the Leuwipanjang Terminal, including doctors, nurses, and ambulances. In addition, we also support the Cicaheum Terminal by providing an ambulance unit, while the health workers collaborate with the health center," said Eka.

In addition to the terminal, PSC 119 also provides services at Bandung City Square with the support of health workers from the Indonesian National Nurses Association (PPNI) of Bandung City and doctors from community health centers.

The uniqueness of the Alun-alun post is the availability of traditional health services such as acupuncture and acupressure, which are regulated by the Bandung City Health Service.

At Rest Area KM 147, PSC 119 has prepared health workers, ambulances, and ambulance drivers from D-7 to D+7 of Eid al-Fitr.

The service at KM 147 received support from the Indonesian Emergency and Disaster Nurses Association (Hipgapbi) and 119 volunteers who are active in handling emergency conditions.

In addition to the four main points, PSC 119 also coordinates with health posts at Bandung Station, Kiaracondong Station, Dago Cikapayang, and Cibiru Roundabout.

Although not directly involved in operations, PSC 119 remains ready to provide a rapid response in the event of an emergency at the location.

Trend of Increasing Emergency Cases
Eka Anugrah revealed that the number of emergency calls to PSC 119 has increased significantly since the beginning of the year. As of March 25, 2025, 357 calls have been recorded, with an average of more than 10 calls per day. The majority of cases handled are traffic accidents, heart attacks, and strokes.

"We thought the number of calls would decrease during Ramadan, but it turned out that the number of calls remained high. Traffic accidents are the most dominant, especially at midnight to early morning," Eka explained.

In addition, PSC 119 also received reports related to brawls, demonstrations, and other non-medical calls. Nevertheless, a positive trend is seen from the increasing public awareness in using PSC 119 services for real emergencies.

Appeal to the Public As a preventive measure, PSC 119 urges the public to always be careful when driving, obey traffic signs, and ensure that they are in prime physical condition before undertaking long trips.

"We urge the public not to hesitate to contact the emergency service 119 if they find victims of accidents or other emergency situations. We have also coordinated with various parties, including Bandung Siaga 112, PMI, and other volunteers to ensure a quick response in handling emergency cases," said Eka.

With thorough preparation, PSC 119 of the Bandung City Health Office is committed to providing the best service for the community during the 2025 Eid homecoming period, to ensure the safety and health of residents during their journey. (Bandung City Communication and Information Office/Fauziah)
