PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin appreciated the increase in the distribution of corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds for companies in West Java, namely IDR 251 billion throughout 2023. This figure has increased from previous years.

When met after attending the West Java CSR Forum at the Pullman Hotel Bandung, Monday (22/4/2024) evening, Bey said that the increase in CSR funds from 274 companies that are members of the West Java CSR Forum shows a strong commitment to contributing to the development of West Java.

"The total CSR funds collected reached IDR 251 billion, much higher than in previous years. This shows the strong commitment of entrepreneurs to contribute to the development of West Java," he said.

These funds have been distributed for the benefit of the community in various regions in West Java. Among other things, it is used to improve infrastructure, environment, education, health, MSMEs, repair uninhabitable houses, handle stunting, and digitalization.

Bey said that CSR funds as a company's moral obligation really help development in West Java. Because APBD funds will not be able to meet all of society's needs.

"Indeed, there are several areas that will not be covered by the APBD and CSR is very important as a moral obligation of the company," said Bey Machmudin.

As a form of appreciation, that evening, Bey gave certificates of appreciation to companies that had distributed CSR funds to state-owned, state-owned and private companies.

"This award is given to companies that provide CSR well, on target and have an impact on society," he said.

He hopes that CSR funds will increase again this year while maintaining accountability. That way, more people in West Java will feel the impact, especially on their welfare.

"Hopefully it can be further improved so that it is more beneficial to the welfare of the wider community," hoped Bey.
