PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Approaching the 216th Anniversary of Bandung City (HJKB), the Bandung City Government introduced the visual identity "Solidarity in Harmony".

This visual identity represents the spirit of Bandung as a city formed from diversity, encounters, collaboration, and community creativity.

The tagline “Solidarity in Harmony” describes Bandung as a shared space for residents, communities, creative economy actors, artists, and various ideas.

Historically, Bandung's journey shows various turning points that have shaped the city's character to this day.

Bandung was born as the center of government in 1810, then known as Paris van Java in 1928.

The journey continued through the Bandung Sea of Fire incident in 1946 and the Asia-Africa Conference in 1955.

Entering the modern era, Bandung has rediscovered its identity as a creative city since 2008.

The spirit of this turning point was again presented in the 216th HJKB commemoration as a continuation of the previous year's visual identity.

The 216th HJKB visual identity was developed with a more open approach through moving elements and producing various possible arrangements.

This approach reflects the development of Bandung which is increasingly opening up space for people to meet and carry out activities.

This space is present through various events, festivals, open spaces, and community activities that enliven various corners of the city.

Throughout 2025, the Bandung City Government will promote 84 tourism and cultural events through the Calendar of Events.

These various agendas also encourage the use of urban space as a place for community interaction through cultural and creative economic activities.

One of them is the Asia Africa Festival 2025 which will enliven the areas of Jalan Asia Afrika, Braga, and Cikapundung.

The area is a space for cultural performances, MSME bazaars, arts communities, and various public activities.

In addition to festivals, a number of city spaces continue to be organized and reactivated as public spaces for the community.

One of them is the Pasupati underpass area which has been developed into a creative space for communities, artists and the public.

In the 216th HJKB concept, the word “Solidarity” represents the relationship and togetherness that enable citizens and communities to move together.

Meanwhile, "Harmony" is not interpreted as uniformity, but rather the ability to manage differences into a productive force.

Therefore, the 216th HJKB is positioned as one of the next turning points for the City of Bandung.

The anniversary celebration is not only a moment to remember the city's journey, but also to see the potential of diversity as an energy for development.

From a visual perspective, the 216th HJKB identity is designed with a warm, light, and inviting character to be close to the community.

These visual elements are designed to be easily recognizable in a variety of sizes and media, including small print and single colors.

The number "216" is one of the main elements designed so that people can recognize it at a glance.

Through its visual identity and tagline “Solidarity in Harmony”, the 216th HJKB represents the spirit of residents in building shared spaces.
