PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BEKASI - The 38th Musabaqoh Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ) West Java Province Level which was held in Bekasi Regency from 27 April to 4 May 2024, was officially closed by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of West Java Province, Herman Suryatman, at the Bekasi Pemdakab Plaza , on Saturday (04/05/2024) evening.

Representing the Acting Governor of West Java, Bey Machmudin, Herman Suryatman said that the MTQ in Bekasi Regency was very successful. He even called Bekasi Regency the best organizer in the history of West Java MTQ.

According to him, this was after seeing various facilities and infrastructure, event content, service to participants, and the main stage which were considered to be of national class.

"Because of that, I would like to express my gratitude to the Acting Regent of Bekasi, the Regional Secretary, who was united, bunguk sauyunan, regional officials, committees, LPTQ Province and City Regency, and of course cannot be separated from the support of the people of Bekasi Regency," he said.

He appreciated the Bekasi Regency Government, LPTQ, figures and the entire Bekasi Regency community who had supported the MTQ at the West Java Province level very well.

"I cross checked that at the opening it was extraordinarily lively, the sound system, lighting, event content were all cool. This reminded me of when I was Regional Secretary of Sumedang two years ago and at that time according to LPTQ Sumedang Regency was the best. But now I admit, Bekasi Regency is better good," he said.

Nevertheless, Herman invited the MTQ event to become an effort for the entire community to emulate the values and implement the teachings of the Koran in West Java.

"We must also appreciate this successful implementation and we must take advantage of it. We remind ourselves and all the community that hopefully the Koran will always be an inspiration," he said.

He believes that from the values of the Al-Quran, various improvements to the problems that still exist in West Java, starting from the economic, educational and health aspects, will be able to be improved well.

"Apart from its benefits for Islamic brotherhood in West Java, the Al-Quran must also be able to convey its values. Because the Koran is a source of knowledge, about education, it is in the Koran, health is there, the economy is in the Koran, because "In fact, today we still have a lot of problems," he explained.

He added, with this value it is hoped that the stunting rate can decrease, the average number of years of education in the community can increase, and the income of the community will become the highest at the national level.

Meanwhile, the Acting Regent of Bekasi, Dani Ramdan, in his speech said that hosting the MTQ at the West Java Province level reaped many benefits.

Apart from being visited by Al-Quran experts from various corners of West Java, other impacts were also felt. For example, from an economic perspective, being able to increase hotel occupancy to 82 percent from normal days, restaurants and MSME players also experience multiple profits.

Dani said, according to data from the Department of Cooperatives and SMEs, MSME players were able to get a turnover of up to IDR 250 million just during the MTQ event.

"This is our MSME development concept, like the ones in this Bazaar, at Aeon Mall, and Matahari outlets, including MSME products from Islamic Boarding Schools," he explained.

In serving caravans from City Regency in West Java, the Bekasi Regency Government provides free visits as part of the Industrial tourism program to several companies that have unique tourism potential in Bekasi Regency.

"Furthermore, we also held Eid Bekasi, which was enlivened by figures, pejao, businessmen and various tribes in Bekasi Regency, even from the expatriate community, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and European, which added to the excitement of MTQ in Bekasi Regency.
