PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman said that various problems and challenges in West Java could be overcome with the principle of sabilulungan or mutual cooperation between the Provincial Government and 27 district and city regional governments.
Herman said this during a Regency/City Development event related to the Harum Citarum Program and Optimizing the Achievement of Macro Development Indicators at the Bandung Mayor's Hall, Jalan Dalem Kaum, Wednesday (19/6/2024).
Acting Governor Bey Machmudin directly led the briefing accompanied by the West Java Regional Secretary.
"The population of West Java is almost 50 million people and the prosperity of its people is characterized by poverty which must decrease significantly, unemployment must decrease significantly, stunting must decrease significantly, and macro indicators must move in a better direction," said Herman Suryatman.
According to Herman, this difficult task cannot only be carried out by the West Java Provincial Government, but must be carried out with the principle of sabilulungan or mutual cooperation involving 27 districts and cities.
"The Governor started from the city of Bandung today, tomorrow we will go to Bandung Regency, to Sumedang to Cimahi, West Bandung and so on to the 13 districts along the Citarum River," he said.
"Then the rest will go to other city districts in West Java. Our target is that in the next month, 27 city districts can be collaborated and consolidated by the provincial government," he said.
Consolidation plans to complete a number of joint homework assignments, first, stunting in West Java which is still at 21.7 percent and has a target of reducing it to 14 percent.
Second, the unemployment rate is targeted to fall to 1-1.5 percent. Third, optimizing the Citarum Harum program with long-term waste management movements.
"Usually with normal methods it is only 0.5 percent, but with collaboration the strength of consolidating 27 regencies, cities and provinces together with other stakeholders in the community business world. I want to be able to jump to West Java," concluded Herman.
