PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BOGOR - Bogor Regency Regional Secretary (Sekda) Burhanudin attended the Taaruf Night and Opening of the 38th Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ) at the West Java Provincial Level, at Bekasi Regency Plaza, Sunday (28/4/2024).

Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin said that holding MTQ was a means for Muslims to enrich their religious experience and deepen their understanding of the Koran and strengthen their spiritual ties with Allah SWT.

Bey said, the Koran is a source of inspiration and guidance for all Muslims in living a life full of meaning and blessings.

“Of course, thank you to the organizers of this activity. With this activity we help love the beauty and majesty of the Al-Qur'an. Apart from being a place to respect the contents of the Al-Qur'an, MTQ is also a symbol of Muslims' love for the Al-Qur'an. "As well as being a forum for maintaining and spreading noble religious values," said Bey.

Chairman of the West Java LPTQ Committee, Dodo Suhendar, said that there were 1,127 participants in the 38th West Java MTQ competition, consisting of 517 men and 548 women.

He said, there were twelve categories being contested, namely Adult Recitations and Qiraat Wujawwad, Youth Recitation categories and the Visually Disabled. Then there are the Children's Tartil and Recitation categories, the Youth and Adult Qiraat Murotal categories, as well as the Tahfidz 1 juz and 5 juz categories, Tahfidz 10 juz and 20 juz.

Furthermore, Tahfidz 30 juz and English Tafsir, Indonesian and Arabic Tafsir, other categories namely, Fahmil Qur'an and Sahfil Qur'an. As well as scientific papers in the Al-Qur'an Fatwa category

"The implementation of the 38th MTQ activity will take place from April 27 to May 5 2024. Thank God, for the Taaruf Parade this morning, public enthusiasm was quite high, there were around 13 thousand participants and the public who joined in enlivening the Taaruf parade activities," he said.
