PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - The Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Garut Regency, Nurdin Yana, officially sent off 35 students of Al-Mashduqi Boarding School (AMBS) Garut who will take part in the English Immersion Program to Malaysia.

The release took place at the Drs Auditorium. H. Dede Satibi AMBS Garut (19/2/2024). This English Immersion program is part of AMBS Garut's efforts to improve the quality of education and prepare students to become global citizens who are aware of world culture.

In his speech, Nurdin Yana highlighted the importance of this program in honing English language skills and introducing students to the culture of each country.

He hopes that this program will be a significant contribution to Garut Regency in facing real life challenges.

"Adapting to people's real lives, so that language skills come in, also conveying their culture or culture also reaches them, I think this is something that is very meaningful for Garut Regency," said Nurdin.

Nurdin advised the students to maintain the good name of the country, institution and family while undergoing this program. Apart from that, he hopes that the great programs from AMBS Garut can be adopted by other educational institutions in Garut Regency.

"God willing, the school will also be welcomed to provide recipes that can be imitated (or) replicated by other education providers in other regions," he hoped.

Head of the Academic Quality Development Department at AMBS Garut, Muchtar Arifin, said that during this program students will learn and implement the results of learning English at AMBS Garut.

They will visit several important places in Malaysia, including international schools and tourist attractions, such as the International Islamic School of Malaysia and the International Islamic University of Malaysia.

They will also visit the National Planetarium, explore science at Petrosains Petronas, and visit the largest Koran printing press in Asia and also the Islamic Museum in Malaysia.

"So the output is to introduce our children to global culture, especially, and also as a world community," he said, accompanied by the Head of the International Language Development Department, Siti Hanipah.

He revealed that this year was the second year of implementing the English Immersion Program by AMBS Garut, where previously, to improve the international language of its students, the school had also sent its students to study English in English Villages in Pare, Bandung, and Kediri.

Muhammad Qolbi Azzikri Kurnia (16), one of the students who will take part in this program, expressed his enthusiasm and considered this program as his first opportunity to develop his English skills.

"Of course, in joining this program I want to train communication in the field of international languages, especially," he concluded.
