PORTALJABAR, SUBANG REGENCY - The West Java Provincial Government has ended social rehabilitation services for 48 foster children who graduated from high school and already have educational and employment plans (June 24, 2026).

The termination process was carried out at the Regional Technical Implementation Unit of the Child-Friendly Home Social Service Center as part of fostering the independence of foster children.

The 48 children are among 360 foster children from 17 districts and cities in West Java who are receiving foster care services.

The evaluation results show that the majority of participants have a clear future direction after completing the service period.

A total of 19 foster children have been absorbed into the workforce after undergoing a coaching and mentoring process.

In addition, seven children continued their education to college and four others studied while working.

Three children are currently undergoing skills training to improve their work competencies according to industry needs.

Meanwhile, 10 other children are applying for jobs and taking vocational training as preparation for entering the world of work.

The Head of the West Java Provincial Social Service, Noneng Komara Nengsih, appreciated this achievement as a result of independence-oriented coaching.

"This achievement demonstrates that social rehabilitation services in West Java are no longer simply meeting children's basic needs, but have moved far toward substantive empowerment. We want to ensure that our foster children leave here with their heads held high, ready to compete in the workforce, continue their education, and become independent and productive individuals in society," said Noneng.

According to him, current social rehabilitation services not only meet basic needs, but also prepare foster children for a sustainable future.

Head of the UPTD Child-Friendly Home Social Services Center, Ravi Wisesha, said that termination is the beginning for foster children to apply the provisions they have received.

"This is the beginning for them to apply the educational background, skills, and values of independence they have acquired during their time in social services," Ravi added.

The West Java Provincial Government will continue to expand partnerships with various parties to increase educational and employment opportunities for alumni.

The collaboration involves local governments, the business and industrial world, job training institutions, and other strategic partners.

This step is expected to expand access to higher education, vocational training, and employment opportunities for foster children after completing the guidance.

This program is part of the government's efforts to prepare a young generation that is independent, productive, and ready to contribute to society.
