PORTALJABAR, DEPOK CITY - West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi together with the Minister of ATR/BPN discussed land management in river basins, at Depok City Hall, Tuesday (11/3/2025).

The meeting was also attended by 27 district heads and mayors, as a form of commitment and synchronization of each region in preparing healthy spatial planning.

According to KDM – Dedi Mulyadi's nickname, the concrete result of the discussion with the Minister was the measurement of land on river boundaries by the West Java Provincial Government.

"This is a solution provided by our proud minister, for the people of West Java. The provincial government will fund the measurement of all watersheds so that West Java is free from flooding," said Mulyadi.

The output of the boundary measurement is that the river function will be restored, meaning that the river body will be widened again and its water capacity will return to normal.

The ministry is also committed to issuing river boundary certificates that will later be held by the regional river center. So, there will be no more individuals or companies claiming and managing certificates.

"So that later the normalization and widening of the river will not be hampered by the issuance of certificates or ownership controlled by individuals or companies," concluded Dedi.

Meanwhile, Minister of ATR/BPN Nusron Wahid explained that land on river boundaries if a certificate has not been issued will be designated as state land with the manager being the local regional river agency (BBWS).

"For the land within the river boundary line, we have determined it to be state land and it will be owned by the river office, later we will issue a certificate for the river office," explained Nusron.

"So that in the future the community will not make unilateral claims to build or have certificates along the riverbank and thus protect the river ecosystem," he said.
