PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Expert Staff to the Governor of West Java, Lusi Lesminingwati, SE, MM, delivered a presentation on employment conditions and job opportunities in a virtual morning roll call of the West Java Provincial Government, Monday (12/10/2026).
In his presentation, he stated that the Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) for West Java in May 2026 reached 6.61 percent,
"It's down 0.03 percentage points compared to February 2026. On the other hand, job opportunities abroad are still open in various sectors, such as manufacturing, construction, healthcare, and hospitality," he explained.
Lusi explained that these opportunities need to be balanced with increased competency, certification, and understanding of official and safe migrant worker placement procedures.
"Based on SIKOP2MI data as of October 7, 2026, there were 54,945 placement services for Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) from West Java," Lusi explained.
Civil servants are also expected to play an active role in educating the public, directing job seekers to official services, and preventing the practice of illegally placing migrant workers.
Through this roll call, the West Java Provincial Government is expected to strengthen synergy in supporting the expansion of job opportunities, improving the quality of human resources, and protecting migrant workers. (Apun)
