PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - A total of 5,000 Babinsa Kodam III/Siliwangi received knowledge and skills through agricultural technical guidance (Bimtek) so that they would be able to carry out regional empowerment optimally.

Pangdam III/Siliwangi Major General TNI Erwin Djatniko said that agricultural technical guidance is very important for Babinsa so that when they are in the field they can provide solutions to technical problems for farmers and breeders.

"They will also be able to provide assistance in the distribution of subsidized fertilizers as well as seeds and agricultural medicines so that they are right on target," said Erwin (30/1/2024).

For the TNI, this activity is a follow-up to the MoU between the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture and the TNI regarding accelerating the increase in agricultural production in order to restore national food self-sufficiency.

"The TNI also plays a role by providing assistance to agricultural development programs, increasing production, increasing human resource capacity and optimizing TNI land," said Erwin.

The movement to increase national food production through optimizing the role of farmer groups and LMDH (Village and Forest Community Institutions) in West Java to provide knowledge and skills for Babinsa ranks of Kodam III/Slw so that they are able to assist with the tasks of PPL (farmer field instructors).
