PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Mayor of Bandung and the Deputy Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan and Erwin, attended the Bandung Utama Ramadhan Celebration 1446 Hijriah 2025 AD at the Al Mukhlisin Mosque, Kota Kembang Permai Complex, Jalan Jakarta, Bandung City (6/3/2025).

This event is a momentum for the Bandung City Government to foster friendship and strengthen communication with the community. The presence of Farhan and Erwin was greeted with high enthusiasm by the residents.

Semarak Ramadan Bandung Utama is present as part of the effort to eradicate illiteracy of the Qur'an through various educational and inspirational programs. This activity also reflects the values of simplicity and empathy during the holy month of Ramadan, as well as being an event to increase spirituality and social awareness.

In addition to friendship and religious lectures, this event was also filled with various social and religious activities, such as: tahfidz competition, adhan competition, donation of Iqra and Al-Qur'an books, as well as donations for mosques in 30 sub-districts and 151 villages.

The Al Mukhlisin Mosque is the sixth point in which the main Bandung Ramadhan celebration is held. On this occasion, Ustaz Evie Effendi delivered a lecture entitled "Returning to the Virtues of the Koran."

"Ramadan is a month full of goodness, the month in which the Qur'an was revealed. The Qur'an is the answer for us. Whatever questions we have about life and everything we experience, the Qur'an always has an explanation," said Evie.

He also reminded that when facing problems, a Muslim must return to the Koran and seek inspiration for solving problems through His holy verses.

Meanwhile, in the celebration, the Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, expressed his appreciation to the parents who had supported their sons and daughters to dare to take part in the Al-Quran reading competition and the call to prayer competition.

"I appreciate the parents who support their sons and daughters to dare to take part in the Quran reading competition and the call to prayer competition. This is a real form of support in instilling a love for the Quran from an early age," he said.

Furthermore, Farhan cited inspiration from Surah Abasa Verses 1–11, which contain an extraordinary message about inclusivity.

“A perfect human being who is flawless, like the Messenger of Allah, was reprimanded by Allah because he once accepted the face of a blind person who came to him,” he explained.

As the leader of Bandung City, he said, the values in this letter are a reflection of his leadership, namely to always think inclusively and not discriminate against people based on their social class.

"This principle has become our commitment in building a more just and harmonious Bandung City," he said. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/Fauziah)
