PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Deputy Mayor of Bandung, Erwin, attended the distribution of zakat fitrah organized by the Bandung City Nahdlatul Ulama Branch Management (PCNU), Saturday (29/3/2025).

In his speech, he reminded the public of the importance of awareness in paying zakat as a form of social concern and worship that brings blessings.

"Community participation in giving zakat, infak, and sedekah still needs to be improved. God willing, I will try to continue to contribute. This year, I have the opportunity to participate in this program again," said Erwin.

On this occasion, Erwin also reminded the importance of alms, as mentioned in Surah Al-Munafiqun verse 10.

He invited the entire community to take advantage of the opportunity in this holy month of Ramadan by increasing alms and helping others.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Tanfidziyah PCNU Bandung City, KH Ahmad Haedar, also expressed his appreciation for the support from various parties in the smooth running of this year's zakat fitrah distribution program.

He emphasized that the zakat that has been collected will be distributed to those who are entitled to receive it, so that it can provide benefits to people in need.

"Alhamdulillah, this year PBNU has been given the mandate to collect zakat fitrah from the congregation and administrators. This zakat will later be distributed to those who are entitled to receive it," said KH Ahmad Haedar.

This event is an important momentum in strengthening awareness of the obligation of zakat and building social solidarity in society.

It is hoped that more and more people will be moved to pay zakat and give alms so that the benefits can be felt by more people.
