PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government has demonstrated its commitment to creating an environment that is friendly to the elderly by inaugurating the Our Elderly Home on Jalan Cipedes Selatan No. 10, Sukagalih Village, Sukajadi District (9/3/2025).

The inauguration event was filled with social services in the form of health checks, physiotherapy, dental checks, and simple laboratory checks for the Elderly Ambassador participants.

Deputy Mayor of Bandung, Erwin, who inaugurated Rumah Lansia Kita, said that this event was not just a symbol of concern, but a real manifestation of the Bandung City Government's commitment to providing proper attention and welfare for the elderly.

"The elderly are pillars in the family, sources of inspiration, and conveyors of noble values. We all must consider them as our own parents. Ensure they get the attention, affection, and health access they need," said Erwin.

According to Erwin, synergy between the government, society, and various parties can create sustainable programs for the elderly.

Therefore, he hopes that Our Elderly Home will become a second home full of love, togetherness, and enthusiasm for the elderly.

"By saying Bismillah, Deputy Mayor of Bandung, Erwin officially inaugurated the Rumah Lansia Kita in Sukajadi District, as part of an effort to create a friendlier and more prosperous Bandung for the elderly," he said.

Meanwhile, the Director of Indonesia Friendly to the Elderly (IRL) West Java, Susiana Nugraha explained that Our Elderly Home is managed by the West Java Friendly to the Elderly Foundation.

Since its establishment in 2020, IRL has assisted more than 3,500 elderly people in Bandung and has established 154 elderly schools in 27 districts/cities in West Java.

"We are a non-profit institution committed to realizing an elderly-friendly environment through collaboration with various parties, including the government, academics, health workers and the community. Hopefully, this program can continue to grow and provide broad benefits for the elderly in Bandung City and its surroundings," said Susiana.
