PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan invited religious scholars to help residents sort out valid information to maintain unity.

The meeting with religious scholars and religious organizations took place in the Central Room of Bandung City Hall (26/8/2026).

The dialogue discussed concrete steps to prevent misunderstandings, maintain order, and ensure the public receives accountable information.

Prof. KH. Miftah Farid reminded clerics to convey a calm narrative through sermons, lectures, discussions, and joint activities.

The involvement of the younger generation, especially students, is considered important so that the message of unity reaches wider community groups.

Miftah also encourages communal spiritual activities, including communal prayer, to help maintain community peace and togetherness.

KH. Asep Mulyana Ismail emphasized the importance of the principle of tabayyun, which means verifying and clarifying information before the public disseminates it.

This step helps citizens avoid misunderstandings due to unverified information circulating in the community.

Ustaz H. Musa Muhammad encouraged the public to convey their aspirations through constitutional channels while still respecting legal provisions.

According to him, conveying public views can be done elegantly without reducing the public's right to express opinions.

Ustaz H. Andri Mulyadi highlighted the role of religious scholars in anticipating public panic through valid and verified information.

According to Andri, Islamic outreach channels can be used to help people obtain accurate information and reduce anxiety.

Dr. H. Ahmad Suherman encouraged houses of worship to be optimized as spaces for community interaction to improve the ability to filter information.

He also encouraged the dissemination of public information to universities by taking into account the diversity of student backgrounds.

Through this meeting, the Bandung City Government hopes that religious leaders will help residents obtain accurate information while maintaining environmental peace.

This joint effort is expected to make the public more critical in filtering information without losing the opportunity to express aspirations constitutionally.
