PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - To minimize accidents, the Bandung City Transportation Agency held a rampcheck or roadworthiness test for Eid homecoming transportation at the Cicaheum Terminal, Thursday (27/3/2025).
The Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, directly reviewed the implementation of the rampcheck.
A number of things that are checked on every public vehicle for Eid homecoming include brake components, lights, horns, oil capacity, cooling (AC), and tire pressure. The inspection is carried out by officers who understand the suitability of the vehicle.
"The vehicle testing team consists of 7 personnel. In 1 team, they work for 12 hours. Ensured by professional officers," said Farhan.
Farhan said, rampcheck is the main key to the bus's operational worthiness. So that vehicles leaving the Cicaheum terminal are guaranteed to be safe.
"We ensure that every bus leaving the Cicaheum terminal has high safety standards," he said.
Meanwhile, Acting Head of the Bandung City Transportation Agency, Asep Koswara, revealed that he had inspected 5 buses before departure at the Cicaheum terminal.
"We checked 5 buses, two of them had technical problems, namely leaks in the cooling system (AC) and the steering system (draglink)," he said.
Draglink is an important component that transmits movement from the steering wheel to the front wheels, ensuring the car can maneuver well.
"We postponed the departure and it must be fixed. The administration system is safe and the KIR test is also safe. KIR and administration are all safe, none have expired," he explained. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/Fauziah)
