PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan invited the community to make the mosque a center of worship, education, and social concern in the Safari Ramadan 1447 Hijriah activity at the Bandung Grand Mosque to strengthen the religious life of the community (15/3/2026).

Muhammad Farhan said that the Great Mosque of Bandung has high historical value because it is a legacy of the founders of Bandung City and has stood for more than two centuries.

"This Great Mosque is a legacy of the founders of the city of Bandung, which is more than 200 years old. We must make it prosperous. Let's make the mosque the center of civilization," said Farhan.

Farhan believes that a mosque will be alive if it is filled with various congregational activities that benefit the community.

Religious study activities are considered important because they can provide enlightenment and strengthen people's religious understanding.

"The mosque thrives because of its congregation. They come because of the enlightening studies. Later, we will invite preachers and religious teachers who can convey knowledge in an engaging manner," said Farhan.

Farhan also invited the public to strengthen social awareness by paying zakat, infak, and alms to those in need.

"Prospering the mosque means prospering us all. When we spend some of our wealth in the path of Allah, God willing, it will return to us with blessings," said Farhan.

The Bandung City Government also reminded the public of the importance of maintaining environmental security so that they can carry out Ramadan worship comfortably.

Farhan asked regional officials to strengthen patrols with security forces to anticipate disturbances such as motorcycle gang activity.

The Ramadan Safari activity provides a space for fostering camaraderie between local governments and the community, while also strengthening the values of togetherness during the holy month.

In his sermon, KH Asep Sudarman reminded Muslims to strengthen their faith by reading, understanding, and practicing the contents of the Koran in their daily lives.

"Not only reading the Quran, but also studying, understanding, and practicing its contents in everyday life," said Asep Sudarman.

Asep Sudarman also reminded the public to be careful about what they say because a person's safety is often determined by how they guard their tongue.

This activity is expected to encourage the community to be more active in improving the mosque while strengthening religious values and social awareness in the city of Bandung.
