PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan emphasized that all population administration and burial services in Bandung City are free of charge without any extortion, death certificate documents are completed a maximum of three days after the funeral through application integration, as a solution to accelerate basic services for residents (22/5/2025).

Muhammad Farhan confirmed that the issuance of Resident Identity Cards, Family Cards, Child Identity Cards, birth certificates and death certificates is free of charge.

Farhan aims to issue the death certificate within three days at the latest so that the family can immediately process bank accounts, pensions and inheritance rights without administrative obstacles.

The Bandung City Government has integrated the Simpelman application from the Public Works, Construction, and Spatial Planning Agency with the Salaman application from the Population and Civil Registration Agency so that death reports are immediately processed and documents are delivered to the homes of heirs.

The system reduces waiting times and prevents illegal levies in the field.

Farhan instructed the heads of neighborhood associations and residents' associations to actively report deaths to avoid delays in issuing documents.

"The availability of burial facilities is a basic need and there should be no extortion," Farhan stressed.

The Bandung City Government inaugurated the 4,875 square meter Cibiru Integrated Public Cemetery which serves Muslim, Christian, Catholic and other religious burials in one area.

Bandung City Regional Regulation Number 5 of 2023 guarantees all free burial services, including grave plot selection, excavation, filling, burial, and delivery of the body.

The Cikadut Integrated Public Cemetery now has a capacity of 8,591 graves, consisting of 3,845 Muslim and non-Muslim COVID-19 graves and 4,746 regular graves.

The management repaired the 561 meter long access road with a width of 4 meters and installed 50 public street lights and 47 corporate social responsibility lights that were still in good condition to improve the comfort of pilgrims.

Simpelman's digital services make it easier for residents to apply for new burials, overlapping burials, burials, and the transportation of remains from hospitals to funeral homes and public cemeteries.

A Cibiru resident, Rina, admitted that she was helped because her parents' death certificates were completed quickly without additional costs so that the family's administrative process ran smoothly.

"We didn't incur any costs and the documents were delivered directly to our homes," said Rina.

The Bandung City Population and Civil Registration Service also won four awards at the 2025 Adminduk Prima provincial level event as proof of its public service performance achievements.
