PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan ensured that food and other distribution channels to Bandung City were running optimally. However, Farhan asked the Transportation Agency personnel to be on standby if the entrance to Bandung City was flooded.

"Ready to anticipate the economic center if it is disturbed. Distribution channels must be well maintained," he said.

Farhan asked the Transportation Agency (Dishub) to place its officers to guard. Including closing or engineering roads if flooding occurs.

"Later there will be officers on standby, so don't wait for a flood before officers are there. Before that we anticipate so that there will be no traffic jams," he hoped.

Meanwhile, Acting Head of Bandung City Transportation Agency, Asep Kuswara said, his party together with the police will anticipate traffic jams due to flooding.

"We try to close the roads that are prone to waterlogging and causing traffic jams before vehicles are submerged," he said.

He admitted that personnel were needed to secure roads prone to flooding.

"We have to place personnel, so that when we get information about flooding, we close or engineer the route so that there is no buildup of vehicles," said Asep.

"We prioritize goods vehicles. This is a concern so that the distribution of basic necessities is not hampered from entering Bandung City," he said. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/rka)
