PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - In order to commemorate the 70th Anniversary and 65th Anniversary of the Department of Architecture, Parahyangan Catholic University (Unpar) will hold the IAAU Nusantara 2025 event with the theme "65 Years of UNPAR Architects' Work" in May 2025.
In this activity, a talk show will be held regarding environmental issues and discussions about development.
The Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, was a speaker at a talk show with the theme “Management of Urban Villages, Case Study of Bandung City for Environmental Sustainability”.
Regarding this, Farhan explained that the management of urban villages for environmental ecosystems could take up the discussion of Tamansari Row Houses.
The area is an interesting topic of discussion, namely moving people to the same place.
"I will discuss the Taman Sari Row Houses. For us, moving people into vertical buildings is an important thing to do," he said when receiving an Audience with Unpar (10/3/2025).
Farhan added that the residence is also close to the Cikapundung River, so it is interesting to discuss in relation to the environment.
"Densely populated housing is a big problem for TB. I am sure that Unpar architecture has a house design with good access to sunlight and air and low cost. This is a solution for the environment and health," he said.
He also invited related agencies to join the talk show that will be held later.
"I invited Disiptabintar, DPKP, and PDAM Tirtawening, why invite PDAM? Because of the environmental sanitation efforts in the drinking water sector," he said.
Responding to this, the Head of the Unpar Architecture Alumni Association, Oki Ramadhani, said that he is ready to present a talk show that provides more mature material.
"This activity involves students, alumni including the community. The plan is May 19-24, 2025, taking place at the Parahyangan University Campus," he explained.
This activity is also planned to be attended by Basuki Hadimuljono, Head of the IKN Authority Agency. Pilar Saga Ichsan, Deputy Mayor of South Tangerang and architects from abroad. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/Fauziah)
