PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The revitalization plan along Jalan Dr. Djundjunan or better known as Jalan Pasteur, Bandung City has received appreciation from a number of Bandung residents.
As stated by Dwi Astuti, a resident of Sukagalih, Bandung City. According to her, the revitalization of the Pasteur area should have been done because it currently looks chaotic, not well organized, especially along the sidewalk of the road that has changed function.
"Jalan Pasteur is the entrance to Bandung City, if it is well-organized and neat, people outside Bandung or West Java can be amazed to see it," said Dwi.
According to Dwi, in addition to sidewalks that must function properly, the problem of poorly organized parking is also one of the causes of frequent traffic jams in the area.
"Not a few cars belonging to visitors who are shopping for souvenirs, parking disturbs other drivers who are going to pass by, also the parking of travel vehicles which are seen piled up on the side of the road," he said.
The same thing was also expressed by Lendra, a resident of Tamansari, Bandung City.
According to him, apart from the parking problem and kiosks standing on the sidewalk, the problem of water channels in the Pasteur area is also one of the problems that must be fixed immediately.
"When rain comes with high intensity in Pasteur, it will definitely flood. This has been happening for a long time and flooding still occurs. Even though it was said that the gutters had been repaired, flooding still occurs," he said.
According to Lendra, if the government plans to revitalize the Pasteur area, it must be done comprehensively.
"The repairs are not only for the sidewalks, but the placement of food stalls and shops must be fixed and tidied up, including the parking problem in the area," said Lendra.
Meanwhile, Helen Elisabet, a resident of Babakan Jeruk, Sukagalih Subdistrict, Bandung City, welcomed the plan to develop the Pasteur area.
"We are actually very welcoming, that's what we really hope for," said Helen.
He hopes that the damaged bus stops can be reactivated according to their function and not left abandoned and looking shabby.
"Bus stops must be functional and maintained, don't let them get dirty," Helen concluded.
