PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan confirmed that the payment of teacher honorariums that were delayed in January and February 2025 has been completed.

He conveyed this after the morning assembly at the Bandung City Hall Plaza, Monday (17/3/2025).

According to Farhan, the delay occurred due to the postponement of the inauguration of the new regional head.

"Today we have completed the payment of the honorarium. Hopefully next month it will run smoothly," he said.

In addition, Farhan highlighted the challenges related to the existence of honorary teachers in Bandung City.

He acknowledged that the government still needs non-ASN teaching staff, but cannot immediately appoint them as ASN or PPPK.

"We have to register them with the Ministry of PAN-RB. Their presence is still very much needed to fill the duties as educators in the city of Bandung," he explained.

The Bandung City Government is currently seeking a solution so that honorary teachers can obtain a status in accordance with the law.

"We are looking for loopholes so that these teachers can have a clearer status in accordance with applicable regulations," he said. (Bandung City Public Relations/rka)
