PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - The Bekasi Regency Government has expressed its readiness to collaborate in the program to eradicate illiteracy in the Qur'an and the one village one religious assembly initiative initiated by the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration (Kemendes PDTT) together with the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag).

The Deputy Regent (Wabup) of Bekasi, Asep Surya Atmaja, conveyed this when attending the kick-off of the program at the Izzatul Islam Mosque, Grand Wisata, Lambangsari, South Tambun, on Monday (24/3/2025).

The event was also attended by the Minister of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Yandri Susanto and the Minister of Religion Prof. KH. Nasarudin Umar.
Asep Surya Atmaja emphasized that the Bekasi Regency Government welcomes this program and is ready to collaborate in its implementation.

According to him, the program to eradicate illiteracy of the Qur'an and one village one religious study group has been running in the Bekasi Regency community.

"But this is universal for all of Indonesia. Bandung City seems safe," he said.

He added that the 100-day program of the Regent and Deputy Mayor of Bekasi is very much in line with the initiative initiated by the Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration, one of which is through giving honors to religious teachers and mosque imams.

"We have a program where religious teachers get respect, and imams get respect. Moreover, now the central government wants to hold one village one religious assembly," he said.

Asep emphasized that the taklim assembly has been running in every village in Bandung City, but his party remains ready to collaborate if this program is expanded.

"As the Minister said earlier, for those who already have a religious study group, just continue running it," he explained.

Minister of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Yandri Susanto emphasized that this program will be implemented throughout Indonesia, including Java Island which is considered more ready.
According to him, teaching staff at the Islamic study groups and Al-Quran education parks (TPQ) will be recruited from Ministry of Religion resources at the district/city level.

In addition, the budget to support this program can be allocated through the Village Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBDes) and discussed at the village level. (Diskominfo Kab. Bekasi/Fauziah)
