Unpad Accepts 9,666 New Students, Today is the First Day of Campus Introduction

PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Unpad Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Arief S. Kartasasmita said, a total of 9,666 new students for the 2024/2025 academic year.

Consisting of 202 Doctoral students, 877 Masters students, 262 Specialist students, 42 Subspecialist students, 235 Professional students, 7,031 Bachelor students, and 1,017 Applied Bachelor students.

Today, thousands of new students began participating in the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) for the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The opening of the PKKMB activity was held at the Jati Padjadjaran Stadium, Unpad Jatinangor campus, on Monday, August 12, 2024.

"This PKKMB event is not only an official welcome from the academic community and leaders of Padjadjaran University, but make today all of you committed to becoming quality students, graduating as quality and superior graduates, then achieving brilliant achievements on the national and world stage," said Unpad Chancellor Prof. Rina Indiastuti at the Unpad New Student Admission Ceremony for the 2024/2025 Academic Year in her press release, Tuesday (23/8/2024).

In his speech, the Chancellor also said that through the PKKMB activity entitled "Strengthening Padjadjaran's Identity to Think Globally and Act Locally", it is hoped that new Unpad students can become quality, healthy, happy students, and can realize the global vision by providing the greatest possible benefits to others.

The implementation of PKKMB Unpad is a real manifestation of Unpad's commitment in shaping the character and mental attitude of new students. The series of activities are expected to help students build a strong foundation in undergoing the academic journey and self-development needed to become future leaders.

"The mental attitude needed to become a golden generation will be summarized in the jargon of JATI DIRI Unpad, honest, useful, tough, communicative, caring for society and the environment, and reflective thinking," said the Chancellor.

Furthermore, the Chancellor said that Unpad also always ensures that the commitment can be implemented throughout the period by always encouraging the improvement of Unpad's quality as a world class university. It is hoped that students can participate in efforts to improve the quality, excellence, and reputation of Unpad to strengthen Unpad's ranking in the world.

The Chancellor appealed to the new students to become lifelong learners. Therefore, it is expected that students can become individuals who are persistent and resilient in facing obstacles. Not only that, students are also expected to become individuals who are always open to learning new things.

The Chancellor also expressed his hope that the enthusiasm and pride of students as part of Unpad can continue to be encouraged, and that they can continue to remember Unpad in the future.

"Hopefully the spirit that we have just raised will not fade away at any time. Instill once again your pride as part of one Unpad. If you graduate, have become a leader, have been successful, please remember Unpad, whenever remember Unpad," explained the Chancellor. (Guh)
